The 20th annual Architecture Student Summer School underway

For 20 years, the Foundation has hosted an intensive, residential summer school intended to complement university programs with an immersive studio-based experience led by Richard Leplastrier AO and Peter Stutchbury.

Twenty six students, recent graduates and those with years of experience under their belt have gathered in Sydney for the summer school, being held in Sydney's idyllic Pittwater. Drawn from almost every state and territory in Australia, the students spent their first day visiting projects by Ric Leplastrier and Peter Stutchbury, before arriving at the summer school venue at the YHA Pittwater.
The program is centred on building skills in observation and learning from landscape, supported by lectures, building tours and tutorials led by two eminent architects who are recipients of the RAIA Gold Medal for architecture, Leplastrier and Stutchbury.
Over the last 20 years, the Summer School has welcomed around 600 alumni, with plans to continue in 2026.
